When I think of it, it was a precious experience in my life.
I had been waiting in a room which was next to a conference room to have an interview
with the principal of my university. I had to pass the interview to study abroad.
Then I was extremely nervous. Finally my turn came and the principal’s secretary
let me in the room. I walked into the room, and sat down on a chair. The
interviewer gazed at me and said calmly, “Start all over again. Go out of the
room.” I couldn’t understand why he had said such a thing. He said to me, “You
already made two mistakes as a member of society. Firstly, you didn’t knock on the
door twice before you entered the room and secondly, you shouldn’t have sat
down before me. These are manners as an adult. What have you learned until now
.“ I was nearly crying and felt depressed with nervousness. During the
interview he asked me many questions about my motivation for study abroad aggressively.
I did my best. However, at the end of the interview, the interviewer said to me,
“Your attitude isn’t good. And your will isn’t clear. If you really want to study
abroad, you should rethink why you want to do it". Then I thought, what a stupid
mistake I had made.
A week later, I accidentally met my English teacher at
school. Then she told me that some of the teachers had given me a bad reputation
in the teacher conference which was to decide who go to study abroad. She
continued smiling “But I know you. You’re such an amazing student. I’m sure you
can study abroad."
After the interview, I was frustrated. Because I handed in
many reports to my English teacher to show my high motivation. Two days later,
I got a letter of acceptance from university. Then suddenly I was the top of
the world. I started to pack my luggage this afternoon.
The girl in this picture is you?
ReplyDeleteOMG! I imagined if I were you I would shocked and did nothing when the interviewer said like that to me.
ReplyDeleteBut you got it, you are so good.
This kind of interviewer is quite scary... He should told you kindly and not aggressively like this.
