The Lost City
This is a story about someone who
never been feeling scared about something. He is an adventure travel guide who
was working at one of the most recognised adventure agencies of South America
called Insane Trekking. The name of this guide is Leon which means lion in
Spanish.
Some years ago, he started on one
of the best rain forest treks with a group of eleventh experienced hikers, who
had done some of the more dangerous treks.
They came from all around the world and they had been dreaming about this
adventure since the first moment when this group of adventurers did their first
travel abroad. The name of that trek is
the Lost City it is a renowned destination which is a nine days walking
adventure. On the end of this trail there is an indigenous stone city called
Teyuna where very few people have gone.
The group had made a pact to get
together in a luxury resort in Santa Marta as was as planned, all of the members
arrived on time, even Leon. That night Leon was explaining all about their
adventure “This is one of the most challenging trails please be careful about
the snakes and remember that this trail has a lot of precipice. I know that you
are an experienced group but I don’t want to see broken bones this week” Leon said
trusting in his abilities at the same time when the group was laughing. At the
end of the meting Leon reminded them “If you were carefully, we will return
safe, and we will be drinking a beer in the pool of this hotel”. Then all the
group had gone to sleep placidly.
On the next days, they were
enjoying their adventure. They had been walking during nine days, they had
visited the lost city and as was planned they had returned to the hotel. Everyone
also Leon was amazed because it had been one of the most amazing trails.
Once the group arrived at the hotel as Leon
promised, they had had time to rest inside the pool. Leon drank many beers and
after 2 hours he had got a little drunk, then when he was returning to his room
he slipped and fell in front of the group. That was a frightening moment when
they realised that Leon’s arm was broken.
The Moral of the story is a pool
plus some beers could be more dangerous that anything.
